Marketplace settlement reconciliation
Workflow concept · fictional records · no live connections
Connect orders, returns and fees to settlement records so sellers and reviewers can see what needs investigation.
For e-commerce agencies, seller-support teams and their accounting partners.
A useful first scope
One seller, one marketplace and one closed settlement batch, using authorized exports and accounting review.
What goes in
- Fictional orders and returns exports for one marketplace.
- A fee schedule defined for the demonstration, not a claim about any marketplace's real fees.
- Settlement rows and bank deposits supplied for the same sample batch.
What comes out
- An order-to-settlement bridge showing expected and actual amounts.
- Fee differences, missing settlements and refund timing exceptions.
- A batch-to-bank reconciliation and a reviewable investigation list.
How a reviewer would use it
- Settlement overview: choose the fictional marketplace/batch and show order, refund, fee and deposited totals.
- Orders: expand one order to its return, fee, settlement and source IDs.
- Exceptions: filter fee differences and missing settlements; show expected calculation beside actual source evidence.
- Review/export: record an investigation note; download the settlement bridge. Never promise a claim or recovery.
Inspect the fictional records and expected results
This is a design brief for a fuller demonstration, not an upload form or a working third-party connector.

Rules and assumptions
- This is a fictional fee schedule. Expected net = gross − refund − expected fee; tax, shipping and advertising are excluded.
- O1002 is fully refunded, with fee waived only by the explicit fictional fixture rule.
- O1003 actual fee is ₹200 versus expected ₹150, creating a ₹50 difference.
- O1004 expected net ₹720 has no settlement in this batch. Do not count it as a fee discrepancy.
- Settlement net totals are compared with the batch bank deposit, separately from order-level expected net.
What should be checkable
- Gross orders ₹5,300, refunds ₹2,000, expected fees ₹330, expected net ₹2,970.
- Actual settlement net is ₹2,200 and matches the bank deposit of ₹2,200.
- The ₹770 expected-versus-settled gap is explained by a ₹50 fee difference plus a ₹720 missing settlement.
- A matched batch deposit does not hide unresolved order-level differences.
- Each exception traces to its order and available settlement source IDs.
Agree the boundary
